Special Assistant to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Forests, Environment, Wildlife, and Climate Change, Pir Musawir Khan, visited Malakand on Thursday to inspect the ongoing firefighting operation in the Kot Hazaro mountain range.

During the visit, Pir Musawir Khan met with personnel and local volunteers involved in the operation and commended their dedication and efforts in protecting the region's forests.

He was accompanied by Chief Conservator of Forests Malakand Forest Region III, Asghar Khan, Conservator Abid Mumtaz, officials from the Forest Department, Rescue 1122, and the district administration.

Officials briefed the Special Assistant in detail about the operation, stating that teams from the Forest Department, Rescue 1122, Levies, district administration, and local residents were actively participating.

They explained that the steep terrain, extreme heat, intense flames, and strong winds had made firefighting efforts particularly challenging.

However, significant progress had been made in containing the blaze across the affected mountain range.
