Playboi Carti took centre stage at the 2025 BET Awards on Monday, June 9, delivering a charged performance at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. The rapper was welcomed to the stage by comedian Druski, streamer Kai Cenat and host Kevin Hart before launching into a medley of fan favourites.
Carti opened with “Like Weezy,” a track from his latest album MUSIC, wearing a BAPE jacket as a nod to Lil Wayne. One of his dancers performed atop a black luxury SUV, adding theatrical flair to the set as DJ Swamp Izzo handled the sound.

He continued with “Rather Lie,” performing the song solo in the absence of The Weeknd. The performance gave viewers a glimpse of what’s to come from his ongoing After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Tour, which he headlines alongside The Weeknd and Mike Dean. The tour began last month and runs through September across North America.
“I love y’all, I appreciate y’all,” Carti told the crowd before closing his set.
Other standout performances at the 2025 BET Awards included appearances by Teyana Taylor, Leon Thomas, Ravyn Lenae, GloRilla and Lil Wayne. The show also celebrated Jamie Foxx and Mariah Carey, who received the Ultimate Icon Award.
