The final autopsy report for Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman has been released by the Office of the Medical Investigator in New Mexico, offering new insights into the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to Fox News Digital, Gene Hackman had a history of congestive heart failure and showed severe chronic hypertensive changes to his kidneys.
The Gene Hackman autopsy report also mentioned "neurodegenerative features consistent with Alzheimer's Disease," although Hackman tested negative for hantavirus—the illness that caused the death of his wife, Betsy Arakawa. The report noted signs of prolonged fasting, suggesting that Hackman may not have eaten for an extended period before his passing.
Authorities discovered Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa deceased in their New Mexico home in late February 2025. Body camera footage from the scene revealed a severely disordered living environment, with rodent feces throughout the property, raising additional health concerns.
