
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has released body camera footage showing Jillian Lauren, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, involved in a police shootout.
According to an LAPD press release, Jillian Lauren was shot by officers outside her Los Angeles home on April 8, 2025, after she pointed a handgun at police.
The LAPD footage of Jillian Lauren’s arrest was made public via YouTube on April 25, 2025, including surveillance video and 911 dispatch audio. Jennifer Forkish, public information director for the LAPD, noted that the Jillian Lauren investigation could take up to a year to complete before determining if the officers acted according to department policies.

In the LAPD body camera footage, officers can be heard repeatedly ordering Jillian Lauren to put her gun down before shots were fired. According to the LAPD, no officers or additional civilians were injured during the Jillian Lauren shootout.
After her arrest, Jillian Lauren was booked for attempted murder and a 9-millimeter handgun was recovered from her residence, according to LAPD reports. Jillian Lauren was released from jail on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30, 2025.
Scott Shriner and Jillian Lauren, married since 2005, share two adopted sons, Tariku and Jovanni. In addition to her marriage to Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, Jillian Lauren is known for her memoir Some Girls: My Life in a Harem and her 2023 nonfiction bestseller Behold the Monster.
