Executive Director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr Imran Sikandar, announced on Sunday that the hospital will soon receive 10 new dialysis machines with the support of external partners, further strengthening its patient care capacity.
Dr Sikandar confirmed that all diagnostic and treatment machinery, including MRI, CT scan, and dialysis units, is currently fully functional. He stressed the hospital's renewed focus on improving service quality, accountability, and operational efficiency in response to increasing patient demand.
To ensure better staff performance, a new reward and punishment system has been introduced, alongside biometric attendance to enhance discipline among healthcare workers.
Significant upgrades have also been made to the Burn Centre, where two previously non-operational operating theatres are now active. Plastic surgeons have been integrated into the unit to improve care for burn victims.
Dr Sikandar added that the MCH department now follows WHO protocols, and evening OPDs have been launched to improve service accessibility for working individuals. Patient service delivery has also been streamlined to reduce wait times.
