A second audio recording has surfaced in the ongoing $50 million lawsuit against former NFL star Shannon Sharpe, with the voice alleged to be Sharpe's making threatening remarks toward the woman who has accused him of sexual assault and abuse.
The audio, released by attorney Tony Buzbee to TMZ, is reportedly a phone conversation between Sharpe and the woman, identified in legal filings as Jane Doe. In the call, the man—identified by Doe’s legal team as Sharpe—appears to confirm travel plans before making a disturbing comment when the woman expressed concern about being choked.
“I might choke you in public. ‘Big, black guy chokes small, white woman,’” the man says in the recording. When the woman responds, “That’s not a good look, Shannon,” the voice replies, “It’s not a good look that you did the s–t you did to me.” The clip ends shortly after, and the exact date of the call is unknown.
It follows a previously released recording, obtained by Page Six, in which Sharpe allegedly told the woman, “If you say that word one more time, I will f–king choke the s–t out of you when I see you,” after she accused him of manipulation.
Sharpe’s representatives have denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the relationship was consensual and included roleplaying. They’ve released hundreds of pages of alleged text messages, including one where the woman reportedly wrote, “i want you to put a dog collar around my neck and choke me with it while ur f***** me.”
The woman, who says she met Sharpe at a gym in Los Angeles when she was 20, accuses him of sexual assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress during their nearly two-year relationship.
Buzbee has yet to issue a statement regarding the latest audio release.
