Justin Bieber is pushing back against reports claiming he is broke and millions in debt, following the cancellation of his Justice World Tour.
The 31-year-old pop star released a statement via his team on Wednesday, calling the rumors “clickbait stupidity” based on unnamed and unreliable sources.
The controversy began after The Hollywood Reporter published an article alleging Bieber was $20 million in debt to tour promoter AEG, stemming from a reported $40 million advance he received before canceling the tour. Bieber's reps strongly denied the claims, stating the information came from disgruntled former associates.
“This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed — and clearly ill-informed — ‘sources,’ disappointed that they no longer work with Justin,” the statement read. His team emphasized that Bieber remains financially secure and is committed to his personal and professional growth.
The Justice World Tour faced multiple delays beginning in 2020 due to the pandemic, and again in 2022 when Bieber was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, causing facial paralysis. The tour was eventually canceled in March 2023.
Bieber’s reps also addressed ongoing speculation around his health, marriage, and career moves, noting he ended several close relationships that no longer served him. This includes parting ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun and distancing himself from fashion brand Drew House.
The star previously sold his music catalog for $200 million in a deal with Hipgnosis Songs Capital, aiming to secure long-term financial stability.
Despite swirling rumors, Bieber’s team remains firm: the singer is not in financial trouble.
