The internet can’t get enough of the “Call of Diddy” meme—a viral trend that mashes up Call of Duty gameplay with the ongoing legal scandals surrounding music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.
It’s been dominating TikTok, X, and Reddit, becoming one of the most talked-about online moments in recent memory.
The meme first popped up in June 2024 as “Nice Try, Diddy,” when users began spamming Call of Duty trailers with jokes implying Combs was behind the game’s marketing. It started as light trolling, poking fun at his business ventures. But after Diddy’s arrest in September on serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, the meme took a darker turn.

Now rebranded as “Call of Diddy,” the trend blends gaming slang with surreal references to the real-life allegations. Players have started calling reckless in-game moves “a Diddy,” while jokes about confiscated baby oil and alleged “freak-off” parties have become part of the internet’s twisted humor ecosystem.
While some find it hilariously absurd, others argue it crosses the line by making light of disturbing accusations. Still, that hasn’t slowed its spread. Gen Z, in particular, has embraced it—dark, ironic humor is practically their native language.
As Sean Combs’ legal saga unfolds, “Call of Diddy” continues to trend—a chaotic collision of gaming, scandal, and the way social media processes public downfall.
