Actors Arielle Kebbel and Zach Roerig, who played Lexi Branson and Matt Donovan on the CW’s hit supernatural drama, confirmed their relationship with a kiss at a fan convention in Covington, Georgia — the town that famously served as the fictional Mystic Falls.
A fan video from the April 6 “I Was Feeling Epic 3” convention, hosted by Epic Cons, captured Roerig presenting Kebbel with a bouquet of flowers before they shared a brief kiss onstage. The post quickly went viral, with the fan captioning it, “I love a couple 🥹❤️ The ultimate romantic.” Kebbel responded with heart emojis.
The pair shared scenes during the show's first season in 2009 and its final season in 2017. Their recent reunion isn’t their first: they also starred together in the 2023 Hallmark film Love in the Great Smoky Mountains: A National Park Romance.
Kebbel and Roerig join a growing list of Vampire Diaries alumni whose on-set chemistry sparked real-life relationships. In late 2023, Candice King and Steven Krueger also went public with their romance.
Kebbel, also known for John Tucker Must Die, currently stars on Fox’s Rescue: HI Surf. Roerig will appear in Netflix’s The Waterfront, premiering June 19 — a project led by TVD creator Kevin Williamson.
