Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Ice Princess', and 'Gossip Girl', has died at the age of 39, according to multiple reports, including the New York Post and ABC News.
The cause of death has not been immediately disclosed.
Born in New York City on October 11, 1985, Trachtenberg began her acting career early, appearing in commercials at just three years old. She later earned a recurring role on the soap opera 'All My Children' before gaining recognition for her role in Nickelodeon’s 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete'.
Trachtenberg was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her performance in 'Truth or Scare', a Discovery children's series.
Her breakout role came in 1996 when she starred as Harriet M. Welsch in 'Harriet the Spy'. She joined the cast of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' in 2000 as Dawn Summers, Buffy’s younger sister, further cementing her place in pop culture.
Other notable roles included 'EuroTrip', 'Ice Princess', and 'Gossip Girl', where she portrayed the scheming Georgina Sparks. Trachtenberg continued working in television, with guest appearances on shows like 'House', 'Weeds', and 'Sleepy Hollow'.
