The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday summoned the Inspector Generals of Police (IGPs) of Islamabad and Punjab in their personal capacities on April 16 in connection with the disappearance of four Afghan brothers missing since January 2024.
Justice Muhammad Asif of the IHC heard the petition filed by Afghan woman Gul Seema, who has repeatedly approached the court seeking the recovery of her four sons.
During the hearing, Justice Asif expressed concern over the prolonged disappearance, remarking, "If such a tragedy happened to any of us, only then would we truly understand the pain. How long will this chain continue? The mother keeps appearing in court, yet there has been no progress."
The judge also announced the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), asking the concerned officials for suggestions regarding its composition.
The court adjourned the hearing until April 16.
