As the much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 begins, the Karachi Traffic Police have announced a traffic management plan to facilitate cricket lovers watching the matches at the National Bank Stadium. The matches will be played on April 12, 15, 18, 20, and 21.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and convenient parking for spectators, the Traffic Police have arranged designated parking areas at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground. The parking spaces have been designated to minimise congestion around the stadiums.
According to the Traffic Police, both sides of Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open for vehicular movement. Fans coming from different areas are advised to park their vehicles in the designated zones as follows:
n From Karsaz: Park at the National Coaching Centre or China Ground, accessible via Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road, under the Stadium Flyover.
n From Millennium Mall: Park at the National Coaching Centre or China Ground on the right side of Sir Shah Suleman Road, under the Stadium Flyover, via Stadium Road and Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi Road.
n From Newtown: Park at the National Coaching Centre or China Ground on the left side of Sir Shah Suleman Road, after Aga Khan Hospital, accessible via Stadium Road and Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi Road.
Apart from these parking arrangements, the Traffic Police have restricted heavy traffic in several key areas to avoid gridlocks and ensure smooth access to the stadiums. The following routes will be closed to heavy traffic:
n Sohrab Goth to Nipa
n Liaquatabad No 10 to Hassan Square
n Peoples Chowrangi to University Road
n Karsaz to Stadium
n Millennium Mall to New Town
n Stadium Signal to Hassan Square
A spokesperson for the Karachi Traffic Police has called upon the general public to follow the traffic guidelines. He stressed the importance of using designated parking areas and refraining from parking vehicles or motorcycles on service roads or main roads to avoid congestion and ensure the safety of all citizens.
