Malik vows to make Islamabad Safe City

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad will be made the first ‘safe city’ of the country under the safe city project, said Federal Minster for Interior Rehman Malik. He said electronic scanning systems at police check posts, computerised First Information Report (FIR) system and capacity building of police would be the prominent aspects of this project.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new Shehzad Town Police Station building, Malik said that nine police stations had already started issuing printed FIRs to complainants.

Condemning the recent terrorist attacks in Lahore, Malik said, “These terrorists have no religion. They are mercenaries and enemies of humanity.” “The police force must be modernised to deal with such elements,” he added.
