K-P plans electricity regulatory authority
The draft will be presented in the provincial assembly for final approval as law.
PESHAWAR:
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish a regulatory authority at the provincial level to improve the electricity transmission system and is currently exploring various options.
To facilitate this, a consultant has been formally engaged to develop a regulatory authority similar to NEPRA. The consultant will prepare a draft act in the coming days, ensuring it aligns with constitutional and legal provisions. Once approved by the cabinet, the draft will be presented in the provincial assembly for final approval as law.
