Nazish Jahangir took to Instagram Stories on Friday to issue a notice of legal action against all individuals and parties who are spreading misinformation about her. "This is a formal warning to all individuals, pages, and entities posting false, misleading, or unverified information about me. If the posts in question are not immediately removed and a public apology issued within 24 hours of this notice, I will be forced to take legal action against each party responsible for these defamatory posts," she wrote.

Warning against any further circulation of such information, she added, "Please be advised that any further dissemination of such false information will result in legal action under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, as well as the filing of a formal lawsuit for defamation. All available legal remedies will be pursued to the fullest extent permitted by law."

Nazish's notice comes after multiple news sites reported that she was to be summoned before a Lahore Court in a fraud case filed by entrepreneur and emerging actor Aswad Haroon.

On Saturday, the court cancelled the non-bailable arrest warrant for the actor after she appeared before the judicial body voluntarily.

In October, Aswad claimed in an interview that Nazish promised him showbiz popularity for a price. "She told me that she would launch me on a big channel if I paid her PKR2.5 million. Obviously, since we were trusted colleagues, I didn't ask for a written agreement, but I did make transactions into her account," he said.

He further alleged that Nazish would approach him if she wanted to get some financial setbacks sorted. "Because I was under her mentorship and I had already made an investment, I couldn't refuse."

Aswad claimed that after he questioned Nazish on why his "investment" was not yielding results, he began receiving threatening calls. "She told me to come to a farmhouse where she would return my belongings," he added. "But when I went there, she was there with a friend. She locked down the premises and had me battered. I was hospitalised for a month."
