
A 14-year-old girl was found dead in the Shah Gohar Pir Darbar Cemetery in Baghbanpura on Sunday.
The girl was found with her throat slit. The identity of the victim remained unknown till the evening and the authorities launched an investigation into the case.
According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, the body was found in the early hours of the morning by locals who informed the police.
Forensic teams and law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to collect evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder.
The spokesperson added that the girl appeared to have been killed mercilessly and her body had been discovered in a gruesome state. An autopsy would be conducted to confirm the cause of death and gather additional clues.
In another incident, the corpse of a man believed to be around 20 years old was discovered near the Quaid-i-Azam Interchange.
The body was found on a footpath near railway tracks, with initial reports suggesting that the death had been caused by a drug overdose.
The spokesperson said the body had been spotted by passers-by.
Police officials arrived at the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation before the body was transferred to a morgue by Edhi volunteers.
The spokesperson stated that the deceased appeared to be a drug user and the cause of death was suspected to be an overdose. However, an autopsy will confirm the cause of death.
