The Yankees organization extended their condolences, emphasizing the deep connection the Gardner family shares with the team. “Brett, Jessica, and their boys, Hunter and Miller, have been part of the Yankees family for years. Miller had a spark in his eyes, a feisty personality, and a loving nature. We grieve with them and offer our unconditional support.”
Miller was an avid athlete, excelling in football, baseball, and golf. A recent highlight showed him scoring a touchdown while wearing No. 11—his father’s Yankees jersey number.
Brett Gardner spent 14 seasons with the Yankees, winning a World Series in 2009. He retired after the 2021 season, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and resilience.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who coached Gardner for four seasons, expressed his sorrow: “We’re heartbroken. The Gardner family will always be part of us.”
The Yankees and the MLB community continue to mourn this tragic loss.
