Season 3 of Yellowjackets shifts gears dramatically in Episode 7, delivering long-awaited answers and raising new questions. Titled “Three Days Before,” the episode rewinds the timeline to just before the girls are discovered, offering a chilling new perspective through the eyes of outsiders.
A new couple, Hannah and Edwin, venture into the forest to research a rare species known as the Arctic banshee frog. Along with their rugged guide Kodi, they unknowingly draw closer to the group of survivors. When Edwin hears eerie sounds — believed by the girls to be signs from the Wilderness — his curiosity leads him to the edge of a nightmare.
Edwin stumbles upon a disturbing ritual site and reacts with horror at the sight of Ben’s severed head. Despite warnings, he approaches the group — only to be fatally attacked by Lottie, who believes the Wilderness is rejecting outsiders. The violence signals how far Lottie’s belief system has spiraled, even as the rest of the group wrestles with survival and guilt.
Meanwhile, a seriously injured Melissa becomes the focus of a failed rescue effort after being struck by an arrow during a clash with Kodi. In a chilling twist, it’s revealed that Hannah was recording everything on a DAT tape, leaving behind a message for her child — a connection that prompts major action in the present timeline.
Back in the present, Shauna listens to the full recording and sets out on a road trip with Misty, Tai, and Van to track down Alex, the child linked to the tape. Tensions rise when Misty receives DNA results suggesting Shauna may be connected to Lottie’s death. As emotions boil over, Van collapses and is rushed to the hospital, forcing the group to temporarily pause their search.
Outside the hospital, Misty confronts Shauna — the mistrust between them finally coming to a head. Meanwhile, Shauna quietly drives off alone, armed with the same knife she once carried in the wilderness. As she approaches Alex’s home, one thing becomes clear: the past is far from buried.
Is Shauna seeking the truth — or preparing to silence it once and for all?
