Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday appreciated the performance of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) for arresting a notorious human trafficker involved in the deaths of Pakistanis in the Greece boat accident last year.
While chairing a meeting, he awarded a cash prize of Rs1 million each to the officials who played a role in the operation against the Jajja gang and the arrest of its leader, Usman Jajja.
Shehbaz instructed the authorities to further intensify operations against human traffickers, saying that those involved in such crimes were not only responsible for the loss of precious human lives but were also damaging the country's reputation.
Usman Jajja was one of the key figures responsible for the deaths of Pakistanis in the Greece boat accident last year. During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the ongoing FIA and IB operations aimed at preventing human trafficking.
