Renowned Punjabi singer Naseebo Lal has filed a police case against her husband, accusing him of physically assaulting her at their home in Lahore, Express News reported on Saturday.

According to the police report, the singer stated she was sitting in the courtyard of her residence in Shahdara Town when her husband, Naveed Hussain, arrived and began verbally abusing her.

She alleged that he then picked up a nearby brick and struck her in the face, causing serious injuries to her nose and the left side of her face.

Naseebo Lal, born on January 10, 1970, in Chishtian, Pakistan, is a renowned folk singer celebrated for her powerful and emotive voice.

Hailing from a nomadic family originally from Rajasthan, India, which migrated to Pakistan post-partition, Lal's musical journey began in her youth, performing at weddings and family gatherings.

She drew inspiration from the legendary Madam Noor Jahan, whom she admired deeply. Over a career spanning more than three decades, Lal has recorded over 1,500 songs in multiple languages, including Punjabi, Urdu, Marwari, and Pashto.

Lal gained prominence through her performances in traditional Pakistani stage shows and cultural events.

In 2016, she made her debut in Coke Studio's ninth season, a popular Pakistani musical television series, which introduced her to a broader audience.

Her collaborations with other artists, such as the song "Tu Jhoom" with Sufi singer Abida Parveen in Coke Studio's 14th season, have been widely acclaimed.

Despite her success, Lal remains committed to her craft, continually seeking to learn and evolve as an artist.
