Punjab Culture Day, originally scheduled for March 14, has been postponed in light of the tragic Jaffer Express incident and out of respect for the holy month of Ramadan.
The government of Punjab has announced that the event will now take place on April 14, allowing the province to stand in solidarity with those affected by the recent tragedy.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that Punjab is a land deeply connected to the emotions of its people.
"Punjab Culture Day is not just a celebration but a reflection of our values. At this moment, our hearts are with those mourning the train tragedy. This postponement is a gesture of respect and unity, reaffirming that Punjab stands together in times of both joy and sorrow," she stated.
Punjab's Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, echoed this sentiment, stating that the postponement reflects Punjab's tradition of empathy and compassion.
"Culture is the heartbeat of our society, but humanity comes first.
