10 militants killed as security forces foil suicide attack in South Waziristan

Following the failed attack, the forces responded with heavy gunfire, killing at least 10 attackers.

Security forces foiled a suicide bombing attempt at a checkpoint near Jandola Fort in South Waziristan's Upper Jandola area in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Following the failed attack, the forces responded with heavy gunfire, killing 10 militants, Express News reported on Thursday.

According to security sources, the attackers opened fire after the explosion, with sources confirming that the attack was a suicide bombing. Security officials stated that several militants were neutralised outside the gate of the Jandola Fort checkpoint in South Waziristan.

The suicide bomber detonated their explosives at the southern gate, resulting in two security personnel being injured. The identification process for the terrorists is currently ongoing, security sources revealed.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for successfully thwarting the attack on the checkpoint in Tank.

He commended the brave security forces for killing 10 foreign militants and acknowledged their professional capabilities in preventing the attack, adding that the nation takes pride in the expertise of its security forces.
