A new twist has come to the light in the Mustafa Amir murder case. The Industrial Analytical Centre of the University of Karachi has categorically denied the report being circulated in various media platforms including social media, in which the Sindh Police allegedly quoted the Centre Report in support of their claim that 'no traces of intoxicating, sedative, or poisonous substances were found in the samples taken from Mustafa Amir's body'.
Sources from the research centre have stated that the report being referenced in the media is misleading. According to the scientists involved, the biological samples provided by the police for chemical analysis were so badly burnt that no scientific conclusion could be drawn from them. Due to the severe burning of the body, internal organs such as the liver and lungs were also charred, making any scientific analysis impossible.
The Industrial Analytical Centre's scientists clarified that they never issued any report stating that no intoxicating or poisonous substance was used on Mustafa Amir before his murder.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the scientists further revealed that the media is only reading the second line of the report, while the first line clearly states: "The organs were completely burnt. Therefore, a scientific analysis is not possible."
A forensic expert also disclosed that for DNA identification, the police provided a tooth sample for test. The pulp sample from the tooth matched the family's DNA, which was used to confirm that the body was of Mustafa Amir.
It may be mentioned that Mustafa Amir's exhumation took place on February 21 at Edhi Cemetery in Moach Goth, where forensic experts collected samples from the body.
