Rebecca Gayheart has requested to dismiss her 2018 divorce petition from actor Eric Dane, marking a surprising turn in their long-running separation. According to People, Gayheart filed on March 6, 2025, to have the divorce petition dismissed without prejudice. Both she and Dane agreed to sign off on the documents.
The couple, who met in 2003 and married a year later in Las Vegas, had been together for 14 years before their separation in 2018. At the time, Dane announced that they had decided to end their marriage for the sake of their family, with a strong focus on co-parenting their two daughters, Billie and Georgia.
Gayheart initially cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition and sought joint legal and physical custody of their children, in addition to spousal support.
