With the long awards season finally behind Hollywood, attention is shifting to upcoming projects, and rising star Mikey Madison, who won the 2025 Oscar in the Best Actress category for Anora, is at the center of casting buzz.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Madison is being courted for a Colleen Hoover adaptation and has also caught the attention of acclaimed director Greta Gerwig.
While the the projects remains undisclosed, Gerwig Gerwig, fresh off the massive success of Barbie, is currently casting for her highly anticipated Narnia films for Netflix. Recent reports indicate casting calls have gone out in the UK for two child actors, likely for the roles of Digory and Polly in The Magician’s Nephew. While Madison would not fit these roles, her involvement in another part of the Narnia saga or a separate Gerwig-led project remains a possibility.
As for Hoover, these reports come at a time of heightened attention on the author's work, as filming has just begun for the Verity adaptation starring Anne Hathaway and Josh Harnett and the drama surrounding It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues to stir headlines.
As Madison weighs her next move, fellow awards season standouts are also filling their schedules. Succession star Kieran Culkin is set for Broadway’s upcoming Glengarry Glen Ross, while Dune star Timothée Chalamet is likely preparing for the third installment in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic. Meanwhile, Yura Borisov, another breakout talent from this season, is reportedly fielding multiple offers but has yet to announce his next role.
With studios and directors eager to secure Madison for her next role, it’s only a matter of time before the rising star announces her next big move.
