
The Horse & Cattle Show 2025 concluded here on Monday with a colourful closing ceremony hosted by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and attended by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir as the guest of honour, according to a handout issued by Directorate General Public Relations.
The theme of this year's Horse & Cattle was 'May Punjab Prosper Forever'. The show featured horse riders, dancing camels, goats, buffaloes, and sheep, while dancers from different regions enthralled the audience with their captivating performances.
For the closing ceremony, the Fortresses Stadium was decorated in a grand manner. Hundreds of drummers welcomed the guests with traditional and festive tunes. During the event, rapid horse riders demonstrated their skills, while two teams played an exhibition match of Kabaddi.
A Rangers contingent performed a torch parade; Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's performance mesmerized the crowd, while Arif Lohar presented traditional folk song 'Jugni' and Choreographer Wahab Shah and his group presented 'May Punjab Prosper Forever'. At the end, fireworks lit up the night-time skies.
According to the handout, tens of thousands of people visited the 16-day Horse & Cattle Show, which was record participation. The event also featured famed international players from Turkiye, Dubai, Baku, Ukraine, and Ethiopia.
The international teams participated in the 7-day tent pegging competitions. Besides exciting competitions of horse riders were witnessed. The highlights of the show were also shown during the closing ceremony.
