LAHORE:

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that the youth played a significant role in the creation of Pakistan and that there was no doubt they were the future of the country.

Addressing an interactive session at the ninth Annual Youth General Assembly conference at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, he said, "It is very important for nations to learn from their past. There are two types of history, one is glorious history which makes you feel proud and another history highlights mistakes."

He said the Two-Nation Theory was more relevant than ever in today's world and added, "Just look across the border and see what is happening in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir."

He said he had attended a few conferences in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and other places and questioned why there was silence on social media when issues like Gaza, atrocities against Palestinians, and the brave Burhan Wani were discussed.

He questioned why, under artificial intelligence-based algorithms and new technology, likes decreased, visibility declined, and outreach was reduced. "Are artificial intelligence-based systems or algorithms fair? The answer to this question is no," the minister added.

He said Pakistan had received $7 billion in remittances in the first quarter of the current financial year, and foreign exchange reserves were increasing. This, he noted, was due to the youth who were earning a substantial amount of foreign exchange abroad and sending it to Pakistan.
