Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has reportedly been arrested on a felony assault charge in Texas.
According to TMZ, citing court documents, Lohan was taken into custody on Saturday on a "continuous violence against the family" charge.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office stated that the incident came to light when Lohan’s wife, Kate Major, disclosed the alleged assault during a medical examination. She reportedly told deputies that her husband flipped her out of a chair at their home several days prior, causing her pain and discomfort.
A female deputy who examined Major allegedly observed bruises before questioning Lohan. Authorities subsequently arrested him at his residence without incident.
Michael Lohan’s bond has been set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to address the charges.
This is not Lohan’s first brush with legal trouble, as he has had prior run-ins with the law over domestic issues. His arrest adds to his history of legal entanglements, keeping him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
The case is currently under investigation, and further legal proceedings will determine the outcome of the charges against him.
