PESHAWAR:

The renaming of the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in Peshawar will soon turn into a legal battle between the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government and the family of the late Arbab Niaz.

Former mayor of Peshawar Arbab Tariq, the son of Arbab Niaz, has announced that he will file a writ petition in court against the provincial government's decision to rename the Arbab Niaz Stadium after Imran Khan.

On Friday, the provincial cabinet had approved the renaming as a result of which it is now facing strong opposition from both the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Arbab family.
