Joe Rogan's long-held position as the number one podcast in the U.S. has been overtaken by The MeidasTouch Podcast, a show known for its criticism of former President Donald Trump. According to Podscribe data, The Joe Rogan Experience slipped to second place, with 48.6 million downloads and plays—a 32 percent drop from the previous month. As Rogan’s numbers declined, The MeidasTouch Podcast surged to the top, reflecting a shift in audience interest, with 56 million downloads, marking a 101 percent increase in reach.
Founded by brothers Ben, Brett, and Jordy Meiselas, The MeidasTouch Podcast originally gained recognition for its viral political ads challenging Trump. Now, it has evolved into a leading political discussion platform. In its latest episode, Ben Meiselas stated, “The buck stops with you, whether Trump wants to admit it or not. He needs to take responsibility for everything that is going on.”
This ranking shift is notable, as conservative and pro-Trump voices have historically dominated the charts. Figures such as Rogan, Shawn Ryan, and Ben Shapiro have frequently appeared in the top 10, with Trump himself favoring podcasts over traditional media during his successful 2024 re-election campaign.
Trump’s podcast strategy was reportedly influenced by his youngest son, Barron Trump. In an October 2024 interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Trump shared that Barron introduced him to trending personalities, guiding his media outreach.
Following the chart update, The MeidasTouch Podcast celebrated its success on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “The MeidasTouch Podcast is officially the #1 podcast in the U.S. per the newly released Podscribe industry rankings.”
