A$AP Rocky, the 38-year-old hip-hop star, is breathing a sigh of relief after a Los Angeles jury found him not guilty of felony assault charges.

The rapper, born Rakim Mayers, was facing up to 24 years in prison if convicted, but he walked out of the courtroom a free man, his emotions running high.

As the verdict was read, A$AP Rocky turned to the jury, expressing heartfelt thanks with a six-word message: "Thank y’all for saving my life."

His words resonated as he also took a moment to thank Superior Court Judge Mark Arnold, saying, "Thank you, your honor."

In an emotional scene, Rihanna, 36, his partner, the mother of their two children and founder of billion-dollar beauty brand Fenty Beauty, burst into tears as the shocking verdict unfolded.

Rocky quickly ran over to embrace her, and the courtroom erupted with joy as the couple shared a tender moment, both of them sobbing together. It was a powerful display of love and relief.

Outside the courtroom, Rocky continued to express his gratitude, thanking both God and the jury for their decision.

His attorney, Joe Tacopina, shared that Rocky had hoped to shield Rihanna from the trial's emotional toll, but "wild horses couldn’t keep her away."

Rihanna herself expressed her thanks on social media, sharing a post on her Instagram Stories that read: "The glory belongs to God and God alone! Thankful, humbled by his mercy!"

The charges stemmed from a November 2021 incident in which prosecutors claimed A$AP Rocky shot at a former friend, A$AP Relli, during an argument in Hollywood.

Relli alleged that one of the shots grazed his knuckle, but he was not seriously injured.

Rocky's defense team countered by saying he was carrying a prop gun, which was meant to be a warning, not a threat. They argued that he fired the gun as a defense against an attack on his crew member.

The jury deliberated for three hours before rendering a unanimous verdict. Despite the severity of the charges, the jurors ultimately felt there was enough doubt about Rocky’s guilt to acquit him.

This legal victory comes at a time when A$AP Rocky is at the height of his career.
