A collision between a bus and a coaster near Chowk Sarwar Shaheed on the Multan-Mianwali road left at least four people dead and around 40 other injured.
The injured were shifted to the Chowk Sarwar Shaheed Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where doctors said the condition of 10 of them was critical.
According to witnesses, the bus going from Dera Ismail to Multan and the coach on the way from Kabirwala to Layyah collided head-on at Adda Hussain Shah.
The accident reportedly occurred due to speeding.
Local people said the victims included residents of Kabirwala who were going to a job interview in a company in the coaster. The coaster was destroyed in the collision.
The injured were taken to the THQ hospital by rescue workers and police but lack of adequate facilities affected their treatment amidst a power outage.
A large number of citizens of Chowk Sarwar Shaheed reached the hospital and the seriously injured were transferred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan in ambulances.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Manan, Muhammad Akram, Jamshed and Muhammad Abid of Kabirwala.
Sarwar Shaheed Saddar police registered a case and started investigations into the accident.
