The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Immigration authorities at Jinnah International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle four women to Saudi Arabia under the guise of Umrah on Sunday.
The four women, identified as Shazia Bano, Zameera Azeem, Lubna, and Sana Shahzadi, were offloaded. Initial investigations revealed that they were being sent to KSA for forced labour. The women had previously travelled to Saudi Arabia.
It was also revealed that a woman who was involved in sending them is a former Punjab police employee. Suspect Asia had borne the travel expenses of the affected women and facilitated their stay in Saudi Arabia through an agent named Wasim Gujjar. The four women are investigated about their connections with the agents. In another operation, two passengers arriving on an emergency passport were apprehended. The arrested passengers, identified as Alice and Rayyan, arrived in Karachi on flight SV700. Their emergency passports were found to be fake, and their citizenship was deemed suspicious.
