Pete Davidson recently opened up about his brief yet highly publicized romance with Ariana Grande, which began in the spring of 2018, led to an engagement by June, and ended in October of the same year.

Now, years later in an interview for Page Six, the SNL alum says things between them are in a good place. “When we see each other, which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” he shared.

Davidson also expressed his excitement for Grande’s Wicked Oscar nomination, adding, “I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold.” Reflecting on his past relationships, he noted, “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women, and when it’s ended, it’s been cool.”

Davidson also reflected on how his high-profile relationships—including his whirlwind 2018 romance with Grande—often overshadowed his career. “Everyone is dating everyone in Hollywood… but because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. It made my life a living hell,” he shared, adding that the intense scrutiny was “pretty humiliating and upsetting".

During their whirlwind relationship, Davidson got four tattoos dedicated to Grande, while she wrote the song Pete Davidson” for her Sweetener album.

With SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration set to air on February 16, Davidson is focusing on his career and moving forward, steering away from the tabloid-fueled attention that once defined his public image.
