PTI Chief Organizer for Punjab Aaliya Hamza has claimed that the government's economic indicators are false and the country is heading towards disaster.

Aaliya said large-scale industries production has been experiencing a declining trend. In fiscal year 2022, it saw an increase of 11.71 per cent; however, since then, there has been a continuous decline. The prices of essential commodities have risen sharply. Wheat price has increased by 52 per cent, sugar price by 59 per cent, beef price by 70 per cent, mutton price by 58 per cent and chicken price by 64 per cent.
The PTI leader said the prices of other essential items have also risen significantly. Egg rate has increased by 158 per cent, milk price by 68 per cent and oil price by 20 per cent. The price of dal mash has increased by 134 per cent, dal masoor by 39 per cent and onion by 175 per cent. Similarly, potato price has risen by 187 per cent and tea rate by 111 per cent, she pointed out.
Aaliya Hamza asserted that poverty rate in Pakistan had jumped from 18.4 per cent in 2022 to 25.3 per cent, pushing 13 million people below the poverty line. She also criticized the government's economic policies, saying the GDP growth rate has been continuously declining since the regime change. In 2022, the GDP growth rate was 6.18 per cent, which dropped to 0.92 percent in 2025.
Aaliya announced that PTI would hold a meeting with all MPAs in the Punjab Assembly to discuss future plans and strategies. She added that the party would keep protesting against the government's policies and mobilizing the masses.
