KARACHI:

An armed suspect shot and killed a 40-year-old policeman, Khimiso Jokhio, and injured his 30-year-old wife, Raisa, in Steel Town. Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred over a land dispute, and a relative of the injured woman was involved.

The unidentified armed suspect opened fire in a residential apartment in Steel Town Block A, within the limits of Steel Town police station. The suspect managed to escape from the spot.

The victim and the injured were immediately shifted to Jinnah Hospital. Upon receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and called the Crime Scene Unit to collect evidence.

SSP Malir Kashif Abbasi told The Express Tribune that the suspect, Saqib, a resident of Darsanochno, was involved in the incident. The injured woman's son, who was present at the time of the incident, confirmed that Saqib, his mother's relative, was involved in the firing incident.

Raiding teams have been sent to search for the accused, and Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident, seeking details from SSP Malir. He directed the arrest of the accused as soon as possible and instructed officials to inform him daily about the investigation's progress.
