Scott McTominay continued his strong form for Napoli, scoring in a 1-1 draw against Udinese in Serie A. The Scotland international gave his side the lead, but the visitors responded swiftly to claim a surprise point at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
McTominay, who joined Napoli from Manchester United last summer for £25 million, opened the scoring in the 37th minute, rising highest to head home a Matteo Politano corner.
However, Udinese equalised just three minutes later through Dutch midfielder Jurgen Ekkelenkamp.
Napoli dominated possession in the second half, controlling 63% of the ball, but struggled to break down Udinese's defence. Despite several attempts, they failed to find a winning goal, leaving them with just one point from the match.
The draw moved Napoli four points ahead of Internazionale at the top of Serie A, but their lead remains uncertain as Inter play their game in hand against Fiorentina on Monday.
Atalanta also closed the gap to five points after their emphatic 5-0 victory over Verona on Saturday.
McTominay played the full match, while Scotland teammate Billy Gilmour came on for Stanislas Lobotka in the 81st minute.
Napoli now prepare for their next challenge against Lazio, a team that defeated them twice in December across Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
