The administration of cash-strapped PIA has decided to give a pay raise to its around 7,000 employees in view of rising inflation.
According to a statement, the PIA board of directors on Friday approved in principle to give a cadre-wise raise to the airline employees in proportion to inflation.
The employees had got their last pay raise four years back and are facing financial troubles due to a steep rise in inflation.
The PIA spokesperson noted that the total number of employees of the national flag carrier is now less than 7,000 and that the number of employees is decreasing rapidly.
