ISLAMABAD:

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa has issued instructions to launch feeder bus services on three new routes of Tarnol to Secretariat, Bahria Town to Pirwadhai, and Rawat Chowk to Secretariat.

He also ordered the introduction of a card system for weekly and monthly commuters. The commissioner was speaking at a review meeting at the CDA headquarters regarding the feeder bus routes, attended by CDA members and relevant officers.

Randhawa further directed that work on the feeder bus services between Tarnol and the Secretariat, Bahria Town and Pirwadhai, and Rawat Chowk and the Secretariat be started immediately. He emphasised that the planning of these bus routes should ensure they pass by key locations in Islamabad, including major centres, universities, hospitals, and other important areas.

He further suggested incorporating technology to enhance commuter convenience, including the introduction of a mobile app for the feeder bus service.

Randhawa also instructed that subsidies be provided for deserving groups, including senior citizens. Additionally, the introduction of a card system for weekly and monthly travellers was recommended.
