Trump freezes alleged Biden $50 million Gaza condom funding, Musk reacts

The Trump administration has reportedly halted a $50 million funding plan that the Biden administration allegedly designated for condom distribution in Gaza. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that the funding was uncovered by the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) during a federal expenditure review.

Leavitt stated that in addition to this, $37 million was set to be allocated to the World Health Organization (WHO). She described the Gaza-related funding as a “preposterous waste of taxpayer money,” though no official evidence has been presented to support the claim.

Following these claims, Musk weighed in on reports that Hamas had used condoms as improvised incendiary devices. He shared a post referencing the issue and quipped, "Explains why all condom orders were 'Magnum,'" referring to the extra-large condom brand.

However, a former Biden administration official, Andrew Miller, dismissed the allegations as “outlandish.” Miller, who previously served as deputy assistant secretary for Israeli-Palestinian affairs, suggested that while funding may have been allocated for sexual health programs, it would likely include broader medical services rather than exclusively condoms.

The decision to freeze this funding aligns with Trump’s broader initiative to reassess federal grants, loans, and aid, ensuring compliance with his administration’s spending priorities. The review of expenditures related to Gaza is part of this larger financial assessment.
