'Faith healers' kill woman during 'exorcism'

Initial findings revealed visible signs of violence, including marks of severe physical abuse on her face and body.

BADIN:

A 30-year-old woman named Sangeeta was brutally tortured to death by two self-styled faith healers in Khuda Bakhsh Hisbani village, near Pangrio city in the Tando Bago tehsil of Badin.

As per details, the "faith-healers", identified as Versi Kolhi and Horshi Kolhi, were called to the victim's home to "exorcise evil spirits" Sangeeta was allegedly possessed with. The pair locked Sangeeta in a room, asking her family to leave, and subjected her to severe torture.

Her cries for help went unheard as the "healers" ignored her pleas and continued their brutal "exorcism" until she passed away.

Police, after being informed, reached the site and shifted Sangeeta's body to the Tando Bago Rural Health Centre for a postmortem examination. Initial findings revealed visible signs of violence, including marks of severe physical abuse on her face and body.
