The Pakistan Navy is set to host the 9th Aman Exercise and the inaugural Aman Dialogue, scheduled to take place from February 7 to 11.
According to the ISPR, the highlight of Aman 2025 will be the International Aman Dialogue, featuring naval chiefs and heads of coast guards from around the world. Senior military leaders will deliberate on regional security and strategies to combat maritime threats during the dialogue.
Approximately 120 delegations from across the globe are expected to participate in this first-ever International Aman Dialogue.
The Aman Exercise 2025 will witness the participation of nearly 60 countries, contributing naval ships, aircraft, special service groups, and delegates. With over 4,000 participants, this global maritime exercise and dialogue will mark one of the region's most significant and historic military events.
Since 2007, the Aman Exercises have been held biennially. The eighth iteration in 2023 saw participation from 50 nations. The primary goal of the exercise is to promote regional peace and cooperation, consisting of harbour and sea phases.
The opening ceremony of Aman 2025 will take place at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard. During the exercise, the Pakistan Marines and Special Service Group (Navy) will demonstrate their expertise in counter-terrorism. Joint operations against maritime crimes will also be conducted at sea.
The exercise will conclude on 11 February with an International Fleet Review, attended by prominent foreign and domestic dignitaries.
Previously the Pakistan Navy assumed command of Task Force 151 for the 11th time.
According to a statement released by the Pakistan Army's Public Relations Department (ISPR), the command handover ceremony was held at the Combined Maritime Forces Headquarters in Bahrain, where Commodore Sohail Ahmed Azmi of the Pakistan Navy was appointed as the new commander of Combined Task Force-151.
According to the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, Commodore Sohail Ahmed Azmi stated that the Pakistan Navy will continue to collaborate with the naval forces of other countries to maintain peace and stability in the region.
