SANGHAR:

A case has been registered against seven suspects after the brutally mutilated and dismembered body of a mother of three was found within the remits of Khadro police who believe she had been killed in the name of honour.

As per police, the victim, identified as Uzmiya Bugti, was married to Omar Bugti four years ago and the couple had three children together. She had gone to see her brother Mumtaz Bugti at his home, but went missing soon after returning to her husband's home on January 15.

Five days later her body was found in the fields with her head, legs and arms hacked off. Local goat herders alerted police about the grisly discovery. Police shifted the body to the Taluka Hospital Sanjhuru.

According to police, they have registered a case against seven suspects, including the victim's husband. "Uzimaan Bugti was killed in the name of honour with extreme cruelty," Asad Nawaz, the SHO of PS SHO Khadro, told the media, promising to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Dr Shabbir Ahmed Chheena of Taluka Hospital Sanjhuru said that the victim's head and arms were dismembered, her heart and lungs gouged out, and breasts chopped off. "All this was done while she was alive. She died of the macabre torture," Dr Shabbir said.

The Sanjhuru DSP said that two of the suspects have been taken into custody while the case investigation has been transferred from Khadro to Shahpur Chakar police.
