Jade Thirlwall recently reflected on her one-sided beef with Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, comparing him to the notorious rapper Azealia Banks. The pop star made these comments during an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, revisiting the public feud that began in 2021.

The disagreement started after Little Mix won the Brit Award for Best British Group, making history as the first female act to win the honor. In response to their achievement, Gallagher dismissed their success, claiming that Little Mix wasn’t “in the same league” as Oasis and criticizing the music industry for prioritizing numbers over actual songwriting talent.

Thirlwall quickly hit back on Nevermind The Buzzcocks, emphasizing that Little Mix was the most successful girl group in the UK and noting that Gallagher wasn’t even the most successful performer in his own family. Reflecting on the exchange now, Thirlwall acknowledged that they were very different bands and questioned why Gallagher even compared them. "Maybe for the clicks," she speculated, before adding, "I think he loves a little confrontation, doesn't he, that one."

Thirlwall went on to compare Gallagher’s love for public disputes to Azealia Banks, who is infamous for her online feuds. She joked that a confrontation with a Gallagher was similar to receiving a hate tweet from Banks, saying, “You can’t really argue with that. I kind of love that I've ended up in some sort of tiff with one of the Gallaghers.”

The feud didn’t stop there. Thirlwall also shared a funny story about her partner, Jordan Stephens, confronting Gallagher at Glastonbury. After Gallagher's comments, Stephens approached the Oasis star to ask for an apology, but Gallagher reportedly responded with a blunt “f*** off.” Thirlwall found humor in Gallagher's directness, saying, "Fair play."

The full interview is available now on The Louis Theroux Podcast on Spotify, where Thirlwall opens up about her experiences in the music industry and her interactions with high-profile figures like Gallagher.
