Shah Rukh Khan calls Chris Martin 'one in a billion' after Coldplay shout-out
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has acknowledged Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s public tribute during the band’s concert in Mumbai on January 19.
During the concert at DY Patil Stadium, Chris Martin paused mid-performance and addressed the audience, saying, “Shah Rukh Khan forever,” to a roaring crowd.
The moment was captured on video and quickly went viral across social media, with fans expressing their excitement and admiration for both the rock band and the Bollywood superstar.
In response to the gesture, Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to thank Chris Martin and share the video of the shout-out. “Look at the stars… look how they shine for you… and everything you do! My brother Chris Martin, you make me feel special… like your songs!! Love you and a big hug to your team. You are one in a billion, my friend. India loves you,” Shah Rukh Khan wrote, quoting the lyrics from Coldplay’s hit song "Yellow."
Shah Rukh Khan’s post received widespread attention, gaining nearly 3 million views in just one hour. This isn't the first time Chris Martin has expressed his admiration for Khan. Back in 2019, Chris Martin shared his love for SRK’s films and even mentioned him in a tweet.
Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, also attended the concert, and she shared moments from the night on social media, including a post that celebrated the special tribute to her father.
Coldplay, currently in India as part of their "Music of the Spheres" World Tour, will perform next in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26.
