PM Shehbaz to visit UAE from February 11 to 13

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from the February 11 to 13.

According to diplomatic sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz will meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during his visit.

The Prime Minister will also participate in the World Government Summit in Dubai, Express News reported.

Sources further revealed a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz and Bangladesh's Chief Advisor, Dr Mohammad Yunus, would occur during the summit. Heads of state from countries including Indonesia and the Maldives are also expected to attend the summit.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has welcomed the World Bank's $20 billion commitment under its first-ever 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Pakistan.

The pledge, announced on Wednesday, aims to support Pakistan’s development priorities and is aligned with the country’s Home-Grown Economic Transformation Plan.

In a post on his official social media account, the Prime Minister highlighted that the CPF focuses on six critical areas: child nutrition, quality education, clean energy, climate resilience, inclusive development, and private investment. He noted that these focus areas align with Pakistan's national priorities, underscoring the country's commitment to sustainable development.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister ordered an investigation into the controversial advertisement for the launch of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Paris flights.

This directive was shared by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar during a Senate session focused on a notice regarding PIA’s privatisationon Tuesday.
