Meek Mill has found himself at the center of yet another viral moment, but this time, the rapper is facing ridicule after suggesting he should be the one to purchase TikTok.

The Chinese-owned app is facing a possible ban in the United States, with various rumors circulating about potential buyers. While Elon Musk’s name has come up as a possible purchaser, Meek Mill decided to throw his hat in the ring on Monday night.

"Sell TikTok to me," Meek Mill tweeted, offering no explanation for the bold statement. He followed it up with another tweet: "If they cut off tik tok we going x and FANBASE." It didn’t take long for the internet to have its say, and the mockery was swift.

One X user chimed in: "Meek Mill pls im not in the mood rn," as fans quickly took to social media to dub a potential new app "MeekTok," joking about the rapper’s newfound business aspirations.

While Meek Mill may be trying to assert his presence in the tech world, it’s a departure from his usual business ventures.

The rapper, who has enjoyed a successful career in music, has also been under the mentorship of influential figures like Michael Rubin and JAY-Z, who helped him sharpen his business skills. In a past interview with Business Insider, Meek Mill spoke about how JAY-Z’s success impacted his own career trajectory: "He actually built something," Meek said. "I watched that, and I studied that. That's why I'm working the way I'm working now to build a foundation for myself too."

However, despite his involvement in various business projects, Meek Mill's latest move seems to have failed to land well with his online audience.

The rapper’s attempt to send a message of support to those affected by the L.A. wildfires also backfired when fans criticized him for trying to make the tragedy about himself. His tone-deaf comments did not go unnoticed, with many urging him to keep it short and respectful.
