Weslie Fowler, the adopted daughter of late dancer and actor Stephen "tWitch" Boss, has been receiving criticism after sharing her views about his passing on social media. Fowler defended Boss' wife, Allison Holker, who faced criticism after discussing Boss' alleged drug addiction in a recent People magazine interview.
In a video posted on Instagram by the Shade Room on January 11, Fowler explained: “These are all people that I've grown up with and to see them now at different for social media, it's like, I don't know, and I'm trying to be respectful, but I just think it's complicated..”
She went on to say: “Because I've, I speak to Stephen's mom's, like my mom and her were speaking weekly at some point, and I don't know if it's still like that, like me and my mom haven't talked about it, but since Stephen died, I feel like I've seen his family more.”
After the video went viral, it sparked backlash as Fowler referred to Stephen by his first name, while calling Holker “mom.” Many online commentators shared their thoughts on the clip.

Several others expressed similar opinions, with one commenting that it was unusual for anyone to refer to their father by his first name, and another feeling as though Boss was treated like a friend rather than a father.
However, some defended Fowler, offering justifications for her actions.
