Tom Hanks’ $26 million Pacific Palisades home narrowly escapes devastating LA wildfires
Tom Hanks’ home in Pacific Palisades has miraculously survived the devastating wildfires. The $26 million property, purchased by the “Forrest Gump” star and his wife, Rita Wilson, in 2010, narrowly escaped the flames from the Los Angeles wildfire, as shown in photos obtained by Page Six on Thursday.
Although the four-bedroom, five-bathroom house remains intact, the large cliffside mansion directly above it was destroyed by the fire.

Tom and Wilson’s son, Chet Hanks, addressed the heartbreaking Palisades Fire on Instagram, saying, “The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground rn. Pray for the Palisades.”
While Tom and Wilson, both 68, bought their current home after Chet became an adult, they had previously owned a Spanish-style villa in the Pacific Palisades, built in 1929.
The couple purchased the villa as newlyweds but sold it for $5 million in 2014, according to the *Los Angeles Times*.
In 1991, the “Cast Away” actor also acquired a 1,800-square-foot beach house in Malibu, which he reportedly still owns. The current status of that property is unknown.
Several other celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, as well as Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, have lost their homes in the catastrophic wildfires ravaging Los Angeles since Tuesday.
The Palisades Fire ignited on Tuesday morning, followed by the Eaton and Hurst fires later that evening, according to NBC News. Flames engulfed the Acton region on Wednesday morning, while the Hollywood Hills caught fire near Runyon Canyon on Wednesday night.
The Palisades Fire has destroyed 1,000 homes and businesses, while the Eaton Fire has claimed hundreds more. As of Thursday, around 180,000 residents were under evacuation orders, although the evacuation for the Hollywood Hills has since been lifted.
