Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi was among the tens of thousands of people forced to evacuate their homes due to the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Southern California.
Authorities confirmed that at least 10 people have died in the massive wildfires that have ravaged entire neighborhoods and displaced thousands in Los Angeles. California’s National Guard soldiers are preparing to assist in maintaining order as the situation continues to escalate.
On Thursday, Fatehi shared her experience on Instagram, revealing that over 130,000 people had been ordered to leave their homes as the catastrophic fires spread across Los Angeles.
In a video shared on her Instagram story, Fatehi expressed her shock at the scale of the disaster, saying, “I’m in LA and the wildfires are crazy. I’ve never seen anything like this. This is insane.” She further explained that she had just received an evacuation order and was quickly packing her belongings to leave the area.
“I’m going to go near the airport and stay there because I have a flight today, and I really hope I can catch it. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled because this is scary,” she added, emphasising how surreal and frightening the situation was for her.
Before her video message, Fatehi posted a brief clip showing the intense blaze from her car, stating, “The LA fires are crazy right now… I hope everyone is okay.” She ended the post by urging her followers to stay safe and promised to keep them updated as she navigated the crisis.
Fatehi was not the only Bollywood celebrity affected by the fires. Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who resides in LA, also shared her experience as the wildfires raged.
The wildfires have already destroyed over 1,000 structures and forced more than 130,000 residents to evacuate their homes. One of the largest fires, which began in Pacific Palisades, has consumed nearly 15,000 acres of land. The picturesque neighborhood is home to many celebrities in the entertainment industry.
Reports suggest that several other celebrities, including Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Paris Hilton, and Anthony Hopkins, have lost their homes to the fire, while stars such as Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore, Ben Affleck, and James Woods were also forced to evacuate.
